So, i get down from the bus, after a 4 hour ride from the capital. Since it was the most auspicious day of the hindu calender that day (Akshaya Tritiya) there were loads! Loads of weddings on that day (Un-fortunately for me) due to which all modes of transport were full. ME? I took the shitty decision to the bus back to my city, only to find out that there is only 1 rickety bus ready to leave, which I took without hesitation ( As i'm trying to be frugal and all). There the only seats left are the ones in the back row of the bus; usually this is a good thing, having the back seat of the bus is really cool. NOT! As the roads are fucked up, my bus ride seemed more like a Roller Coaster one! >_< That's not even the worst part! The worst part being, the people who entered the bus after I ran inside the bus and sat next to the window.A bunch of old, sweaty 40 something year old women.... (They were all over me falling on me as the bus turned and rubbing against my shoulders as the bus made its journey, if there were younger or prettier women. I would not be complaining, but cuz they weren't and I AM complaining! God it was so fucked up).
Coming back to getting down from the bus, to find out that there are NO pre-paid taxis there to take me home. ( I find this out after waiting in line for another half an hour, in the rain)
I made my way to the local bus stand hoping to quickly find a bus and get home ASAP. I was away from my computer for almost 2 days now (It was killing me). I almost get into a taxi and start bargaining with the taxi driver (I'm Indian. I bargain. Get used to it) on a reasonable fare to take me home, a bus pulls over.. I jump from the taxi and get on the bus. Only to find out that its not the bus that i wanted to get over....! >.< Here is where my financial analyst brain kicked in. If the bus takes me till the Railway Station, it would Cost me 5 Rs, a taxi from there would be around Rs.55. But the taxi driver had asked for Rs. 75 to take me home from the bus stop. I would be saving around Rs.15. Sounded like a good deal, so i climbed aboard the bus and asked the Bus Conductor which place is nearest to where I wanted to go. Only to find out that the bus was going in the street next to one where I live in. Overjoyed, I rode the bus the whole way. Walked back home and was satisfied that I had made a net saving of Rs. 65, cuz the Bus ticket only cost me Rs. 10. :P
(It is only later that I realized the ramifications of my decision to ride a rickety bus for almost 4 hours. ---> I had ugly women sweat all over me and worst of all, My back was fucked up!! Gaaah!! )
